Cordless Telephones

May 16, 2008

Cordless telephones are one of the best inventions to hit modern society. At the same time, cordless telephones are one of the worst things to affect the family since the television. Even with its ups and downs, the cordless telephones are likely to not only stay around but will even become more fixed in society.
The early cordless telephones did not offer a great deal of convenience. Users might be able to cross the room or maybe even make it into another room before the signal faded or dropped out altogether. The advanced in technology of the cordless telephones today allow users to walk anywhere in the house and sometimes even over into the neighbors house as well.
Being able to stay connected all the time is one of the downfalls (and pluses) of the modern cordless telephones. It is rare that people are willing to go outside and play or rest without having to carry the burden of the cordless telephones with them. If you add in the cell phones then there is really no escaping.
The ease of walking around while talking on the cordless telephones has also made it more convenient for people to talk longer. Years ago, you would be tied down to one spot while you talked. Often that would cut the length of the conversation for both parties. Today you can carry your conversation anywhere you go - which means more time on the telephone than ever before.

Having cordless telephones with far reaching capabilities has made communications more convenient. At the same time, what is a good thing for society has also stolen most people’s ability to just walk outside and enjoy the day.
